From the Workshop Piano recitals






From The Workshop will be hosting it's second Piano recital at 11.00am on Sunday 24th June as part of Macclesfield's Barnaby Festival following the sucess of the last piano recital which was featured in April's Cheshire Life!

Pianist Matthew Kam, Pianist Matthew Kam is a graduate of Melbourne University. He performed Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto with the University Symphony Orchestra. After winning the Australian National Piano Award and numerous other significant prizes, as well as generous sponsorship from the John Tallis Foundation, he moved to England for further training at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he completed a Masters and Postgraduate Diploma, followed by a two-year Junior Fellowship in Solo Piano in 2009. He studied with Max Cooke, Helen Krizos and Nelson Goerner. Matthew's performances of Rautavaara's FirstPiano Concerto with the RNCM Symphony Orchestra for the RNCM and Lancaster International Concert Series won praise from the composer himself, who later wrote to say: "Your rendering of the concerto is perfect. Your playing is full of drama and also with great lyrical expressiveness." He gave his debut solo recital at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, and has also performed as a chamber musician at the St Martin in the Fields and Wigmore Hall in London. To date, Matthew has performed in numerous solo and chamber music recitals for various music societies and festivals throughout the UK.

Shackleford Pianos Cheshire opens it's doors to the public with a new Art gallery!

Marburae Art Gallery, a new contemporary visual arts space in Macclesfield uses the piano showroom spaces in Shackleford Pianos. Already making a big impact on the Cheshire Art Scene, Marburae Gallery is aiming high. Showcasing national and International Artsists as well as local Artists allows the gallery to keep a fresh and vibrant catalogue of exhibitions.

The latest exhibition from Marburae Art Gallery is 'Abstracted' featuring 160 cocoons and giant steel letters amoungst the works of 9 national and international Artists!

The gallery is also taking big steps as part of the Barnaby festival this year. Showing four exhibitions, Macarbe Macclesfield a special exhibition by Electric Picture House based in Congleton, Arts council funded - Contra Invention by Irish Artist Mokasim, Pom Pom forest which is a flash mob event by Cheshire based Artist Caroline Backhouse and an installation of 160 Cotton Cocoons by installation Artist Julia Snowdin.

Launch of our Piano Tuning Lancashire Website

Our Piano Tuning Lancashire website has just been launched!

This site is our outreach for our tecnician Bradley to tune pianos within the North West of England, focusing around Manchester, Rochdale, Burnley and Skipton. The new site informs the customers about when a piano needs to be tuned, why a piano needs to be tuned, how to get your piano tuned and about the piano tuners that will be attending to their piano.

The website also has a useful piano tuning and servicing cataolgue which the customer can download to keep a record of their piano tunings and also a short video of Afonso tuning a Feurich 161 white grand piano back at the workshop.

Piano tuning service UK keeps a record of when your piano is tuned and will then contact you in 6 months to remind you that your piano is due for it's service - taking out your responsibility to know when the piano needs tuning.
